Striking, dark purple leaves edged with green have a spicy, sweet flavor. Accidental cross between East African basil and ‘Dark Opal’. Petite, pinkish-purple flowers appear later in the season. Excellent for cuisine or decoration.

Green Thumb Guide

Plant in enriched garden soil 1-2 weeks after last frost. Leave 8"-10" of space between each plant. Fertilize when transplanting and again after first harvest. Water early morning or late evening. Harvest basil leaves at about 1"-3" long by pinching them off at the stem.
