Green Thumb Guide

Plant in enriched garden soil with good drainage after danger of 100° weather has passed. Can be planted close together in rows with at least 3' between each row. Mulch to protect roots. Cut back to ground in winter after plant tops have turned brown. Plants will begin to produced spears during second year and can be lightly harvested. Harvest by cutting spears with pruners or a sharp knife at ground level. Feed during the growing season with a vegetable fertilizer about once a month.
