California native, perennial grass has bright green leaves that form a dense, tight clump. Upright, slender, yellow or purplish flower spikes rise 2ft above foliage in autumn. Excellent container or landscape accent plant.

Grows well in enriched, well draining soil. In early spring, cut back faded foliage for fresh new growth. Feed with an all purpose fertilizer in spring when new growth appears.
