Semievergreen shrub has an upright, fountain-like habit with gray-green, lance-shaped foliage. Dozens of fragrant, magenta, flower-covered spikes bloom intermittently throughout the summer. Grow in containers, borders, as a pollinator attractant or accent plant.
Performs best in enriched, well draining soil. Apply a flower fertilizer in spring. Keep a clean appearance by removing spent flowers. Prune in late winter to early spring.
These characteristics apply to the greater Sacramento area and nearby regions.
