Deciduous shrub or small tree with a light orange leaves that emerge in spring and mature into a chartreuse color in fall. In early summer, green flower clusters fade and create pink "smoke" plumes. Grows with a rounded habit. Use as accent, hedge, firescaping, specimen, border, or for mass planting.

Plant with Tickseed or Black-Eyed Susan

Tolerates a wide range of soils but prefers well drained soils with medium moisture. Prune lightly in late winter or early spring if bloom is desired. If bloom not desired, cut back far to encourage growth of vigorous new shoots with larger leaves. Apply an all-purpose fertilizer in spring.
