Deciduous shrub with an open, arching habit and bright green, slightly spear-shaped leaves. Inconspicuous white flowers bloom late spring and early summer between foliage. Flowers produce clusters of violet to magenta berries that contrast beautifully with foliage. Berries hold on plant stems after fall leaf drop. Use as a foundation plant, border, or garden specimen.
